Sunhwa Says Goodbye To Secret

It seems like 2016 is the year of disbandment, members leaving their groups...or just new beginnings. First there was Kara, then 2NE1, then 4Minute (I'm still not over that), now it's Secret. It has been announced today that Secret's maknae, Han Sunhwa, will no longer continue with the girl group. She has decided not to renew her contract with TS Entertainment in order to pursue a career in acting.

Sunhwa took to her Instagram to give the sad news to her fans and to thank them for their support in the past:

항상 감사한 시크릿타임 팬 여러분들과 응원해주고 격려해주신 많은분들께.. 안녕하세요 한선화입니다 여느 때와 다른, 조심스런 마음으로 여러분들께 인사드립니다. 먼저 7년이란 시간동안 시크릿의 한 멤버로서 말로 다 표현할 수 없는 큰 사랑과 관심을 받으며 여러분들과 함께 울고 웃을 수 있어 많이 행복하고 감사했습니다. 지난날들을 다시 돌아보면 아무것도 모를 때에 혼자서는 할 수 없었던 대단한 일들을 함께 해내며 생각지도 못할 만큼의 사랑과 관심을 받았던 것 같아요. 어려운 선택을 한 만큼 아쉽기도 하고 서운하기도하지만.. 그동안의 추억을 소중하게 간직하고 지금까지 쏟아온 열정을 이젠 앞으로의 날들을 위해 쏟아보려고 합니다 새로운 시작을 앞두고 부족함과 미숙함도 많이 보이겠지만 언제 어디서든 여러분들 응원에 보답하며 묵묵히 열심히 하는 한사람이 되겠습니다. 그동안 함께 해주신 ts가족분들 멤버들 팬여러분 진심으로 감사합니다.

I am sorry and sad as it was such a difficult decision.. but I hope to cherish the memories we have had and hope to direct my passion now towards the future.

It is said that Secret will continue as a 3-membered group with Jun Hyosung, Jung Hana, and Song Ji Eun. Sunhwa has not yet signed with an acting agency.

I'm genuinely saddened, but not surprised by this. In most cases, whenever a Kpop group does not have any activities for almost 2 years, they are bound to disband or lose a member. 2NE1 is another example of this. Just like 2NE1, Secret was one of the first music groups I discovered when I first discovered Kpop and have grown to love. I was really disappointed when they fell off the radar as a group the past couple of years and now Sunhwa has left. However, I wish Sunhwa all the best in her future in acting. Sunhwa hwaiting!

Lee Min Ho and Taylor Swift?....What?

I knew this was a rumor the moment I heard about it because Hallyu fans across the globe would not stand for it. Yesterday, various media outlets put out articles about rumors of Lee Min Ho and Taylor Swift dating. The rumors started to circulate after Taylor Swift broke up with Tom Hiddleston. There were also rumors that Lee Min Ho and Bae Suzy were in a on-again-off-again relationship, but both parties have denied these rumors.

My question is: How can anyone start such a rumor about Lee Min Ho and Taylor Swift??? I don't know either of them personally, but I can't see Lee Min Ho wasting his energy on the likes of Taylor Swift. She's notorious for writing music about exes. Lee Min Ho nor his camp NOR his fans are going to have that. He is almost untouchable when it comes to that trash. She is someone who does not value relationships and Lee Min Ho deserves better than that. I know the relationship doesn't exist, but that was my little rant because the thought of Taylor Swift with Lee Min Ho just makes me nauseous. 

Saesangs Are The Worst...

Someone needs to arrest these nutjobs and throw them in the looney bin! Yesterday, Jackson was seen entering the Xiamen Airport holding his back on his way to catch a flight to Japan. Why? Because, allegedly, several GOT7 fans got mental (lel) and decided to chase down Jackson's car in a van. As they chased his car, the driver of Jackson's car eventually hit the brakes, and the saesang van slammed into the back of the car. Allegedly, this was not on purpose. Jackson hurt his back in the accident and was seen holding his back entering the airport.

Saesangs need to chill. Yes, Jackson loves his fans, but he doesn't want to marry them or anything of that sort. And if they are TRULY fans of GOT7, they would consider his safety instead of letting the insanity get the best of them.

If there are any saesangs reading this, you need to calm down, take a deep breath and take a nap or something. It is one thing to admire an idol and be obsessed with their work, but it's another thing when you put the idol's life and other people's lives in danger. Saesangs won't be happy until they actually KILL an idol.

2 M/Vs for the Price of 1!

...ok, you're not really paying for these M/Vs. However, three iconic kpop idols released NEW M/Vs today: CL and Yuri x Seohyun!

Let's start with the one that left a lasting impression on me...SECRET.

Even though I am a Blackjack before I am a Sone, I really liked this music video over CL's. Like, girl, Yuri and Seohyun looked so elegant and flawless in their new music video, especially Yuri (she never fails to bring the "sexy"). The music video had a black and white theme to it, which contributed to the "elegance." And their slow motion hair whips...if I did not know any better, I would have thought they invented "hair whipping." The music itself was pretty cool, not going to lie. I would say the song is suitable for the club more than anything else. If you haven't already, check out the music video below!

Lifted

As a Blackjack, I have never been so proud to see CL in her solo career. I hope she does become successful her in the US because the rap industry could really use some diversity. "Lifted" is a nice bop. During the first 40 seconds of the music video I could not help but to think of M.I.A...I don't know why. It had a strong urban theme to it and some HipHop dancing...and when CL started twerking! My edges were snatched! I did not know she could move that way! I mean, I kinda knew, but my eyeballs almost jumped out of my head watching it because I was caught off guard.

The whole music video has a bit of an M.I.A feel to it. I got a bit homesick looking at the music video because it takes place in New York City and I'm a native New Yorker.

The only thing I did not like about the music video (brace yourselves) was the CHEAP CGI at the end. Yes, I know the director or producers of the music video aren't going for an Oscar or whatever, but the anal-retentive in me did not favor it. Overall, it was a nice music video, a good bop. Stellar in a Car Accident!

I'm baaaaaack...for now. My personal life has been keeping me busy with graduation, moving over a thousand miles from my home state, and a bunch of other things. I just hate coming back with an unfortunate story though.

Yesterday, while Stellar was shooting a music video for their comeback, they got into a vehicular accident. They were shooting in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province at 11a.m. KST. Minhee was driving the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon when she hit mistakenly hit an unknown structure on the road.

As the Jeep was towed away, Stellar was taken to the hospital for minor injuries...whew! When first read this, I thought they suffered from major and they will have to delay their comeback. But don't worry Twinkles, Stellar is still getting ready for their comeback this month!

Stellar may disband this year!

Stellar to disband?

According to a Tumblr fanpage, Stellar Twinkles, Stellar is due for another comeback later on this year. If they do not do well, they may disband. Stellar did not receive much work for the past two months. Last week, they held a small concert.  The hall it was held in can hold up to 160-200 people and the tickets were $35 each. The rent for the hall could have been between $2000-$3000 and they could have made $5,600-$7000 from the concert. That profit would also have to go to the backup dancers, stage crew and their sorry-excuse for a manager. So, if you think about it, Stellar did not receive much profit from the concert. It can also be speculated that the concert was just for the fans and not for Stellar's monetary gain. Stellar Twinkles also created a crowdfunding program for Stellar and you can visit their page for more information.

My verdict: They have a crappy manager and a crappy agency. They are too lazy or unskilled in promoting a group. Stellar deserves so much more. They should consider trying to find a new agency, if they have not done so already. Their music is actually GOOD, in my opinion. Every now and then, I get tired of hearing the typical Kpop song that  sounds barely any different from the last. I like Stellar because their music does not sound like typical Kpop. It just sucks that I came across a group whose music I actually enjoy may disband soon.

Sometimes, I also think Stellar is not meant to be. They have been struggling for so long and are barely making any headway. Maybe the girls should find a different occupation in life? Every Kpop group struggles, but Stellar have been doing so for way too long. They can also try doing another concept one last time. Step away from the sexy concept, and maybe go for something simple or edgy? I don't know, what do you think?

GD Shoved a Fan in Beijing!

NOT! A lot of Big Bang antis or people who just need their eyes examined are claiming that G-Dragon shoved a fan yesterday at a Beijing airport. When I saw the photos for myself for the first time, I thought "Whoa, how douchey of him." But after looking at the photo a second time with my eyes almost pressed against the screen, it is quite clear that it is not GD's arm shoving the fan:

I hope I made this picture large enough for you to see what I mean. If you look on the lower left picture, you can see the bodyguard directly behind GD hold his left arm while he is shoving her back. If that is not clear enough evidence, you can also see GD's right sleeve is hanging down. If he was actually shoving the girl, the sleeve will be held up. If this girl was just a regular fan just standing around to take a picture of G-Dragon, I'm sure she would not have gotten shoved. However, if you check out the clip below, you can tell this girl activated SASAENG.EXE:



You see her pop at 0:03 and gets pushed away by a bodyguard. Somehow, through all that commotion and people, she managed to pop up again at 0:15 and I guess that is when she got shoved hard a gain by the two bodyguards we saw in the photo. Honestly, I do not blame the bodyguards. Fans have different ways of harming idols nowadays. The phone she was holding could not have been a phone. It could have been a spray that could irritate GD's skin, make him go blind, or even melt the skin off his face. You never know. So everyone, relax. Stop proving it was GD and stop proving he is actually a nice person. He did not shove the fan.
