I...I just...oh my chest...I cannot take this. Minzy has left, in my opinion, one of the best Kpop girl groups in hallyu history. After these past couple of years of us Blackjacks waiting for a 2NE1 comeback, this only makes things worse for us as fans. The members' contracts are up for renewal May 5, 2016, but YG met each member one-on-one, in January, to discuss their future with 2NE1. Back then, Minzy made it known to YG she will not continue with the agency and is searching for a new one. However, the Bom, CL, and Dara will continue on as a group.
My guess as to why she left was because the hiatus for 2NE1 was just too long and she needs to manifest her talent better with an agency that can provide a good amount of work for her. YG was keeping her in the dungeon way too long and she needed to break free. How YG treats their artists just breaks my heart because their music does not sound like generic Kpop music and they're the most talented out of the other music agencies in South Korea, in my opinion. I just hope Minzy does well in the near future because I believed her vocals were able to carry the group. Good luck Minzy, we'll miss you! More on THG: Seolhyun's New Commercial Under Fire!
Seolhyun's new commercial is facing a lot of heat for "discriminating against female voters." Now, of course, this is no way Seolhyun's fault. Instead the National Election Committee is to blame. Their commercial featuring Seolhyun depicted women as being so infatuated with their beauty products, they do not think to vote. The advertisement is geared towards voters of a younger age group for the upcoming national election. The Korean Women's Association United demanded this advertisement to be pulled out of the media as it gives off a false image of women.
Seolhyun's agency is also to blame for this. I mean, I get that they want Seolhyun's image to be all over the place, as much as possible. But, it would be wise to think how certain CFs can backfire on an idol's image. Because of this CF, some people will not be able to help but to associate Seolhyun with gender stereotypes, which is obviously bad. Check out the CF below.
I'm going to be honest: I did not like it as much as I thought I would. I was expecting them to snatch my weave out like they did with "Be Natural" and "Automatic" (side note: I don't wear weaves). Hear me out, or rather, read me out. Heh. Red Velvet pretty much set a high standard for themselves with "Be Natural" and "Automatic," in my opinion. With those two tracks, I would think they would perform music as great as that or better. I felt that this track went slightly beneath their standard. Don't get me wrong, I like the song. It's not horrible, but I was expecting a lot more. But that's just me. Other people think that this track sounds better than "Automatic" or "Be Natural."
Visually speaking, I liked how they looked.....except for Wendy. It's almost as if her stylist is trying to make her ugly on purpose. Now, they brought back her forehead and I really appreciate that. However, why did they have to take away her eyebrows? It's like they do not want me and other RV fans to have everything visually-speaking when it comes to Wendy. #LeaveWendysEyebrowsAlone2k16. When you want a certain feature of hers to be seen, you have to sacrifice another.

So far, I love how the album sounds so far. The songs are a lot better than "Nice Body," which I did not like so much. So far my favorite ones are "Gold" and "Sketch." I can't wait for the album to come out on March 17th ㅠㅠ!
